Firstly, everyone at Cirencester Cupcakes HQ wishes you a very Happy New Year and we hope you had a fabulous Christmas, filled with love and laughter.
We certainly did, and although we’ve had our annual two week holiday, we haven’t stopped thinking about all things cake. 2011 was an amazing year for Cirencester Cupcakes, with a fabulous time in the shop, a splendid magazine cover for the Royal Wedding, winning a Cotswold Life Food and Drink award for Best Independent Retailer and of course creating lots of fabulous cakes. We’re not sure how we’re going to top that, but we’ve got our own wedding coming up and with it a very special wedding cake, lots of other weddings, more masterclasses and workshops, some exciting new ventures and of course the Diamond Jubilee in June. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when we announce more details.
Now onto cake business!
If you read our Facebook and Twitter pages, you probably know that last October we launched our Taste Test evening, at The Cotswold Chef Food Centre, the home of our masterclasses. We invited our ‘fans’ and ‘followers’ to join us for an evening filled of cake and chat, and at the centre of everything were 8 new autumn and winter flavours. We had a great time meeting everyone, and the feedback was fantastic. Of the 8 flavours, 7 made it onto our AW11/12 menu. The only one that didn’t make it was a Mont Blanc dessert inspired cupcake. I don’t think chestnut puree is everyone’s cup of tea! Those that did make the menu were:
- Malted Chocolate Milkshake
- Caramel Toffee Apple
- White Chocolate & Gingerbread
- Pumpkin & Maple Syrup
- Snowball Cocktail
- Orange, Vanilla & Cardamon – swapped cardamon for cranberries for Christmas
- Boston Creme Pie
With the first panel safely under our belts, we will be hosting a second panel towards the end of January and the beginning of February.
So if you fancy breaking a New Year’s Resolution and tasting our new Spring flavours, all we ask is if you could sign up using our online form, and we will then email everyone with further details. Spaces will be limited and those who have signed up and are available on the date when announced will be selected from a draw.
